After a 3 month preview, Microsoft has officially made its popular Office Available on Android Tablets for free. Microsoft said that it wants that a highly productive utility like The Office must be available for everyone and by launching Office for Android Tablets it has made things much more convenient.
Similar to the Windows 10, Microsoft has made sure that their Office for tablets is easy to use and a touch friendly one. They have carefully observed real life cases where the Office is most widely used and designed it accordingly. Microsoft claims that once you open any of the Office tools whether it is Word, Excel or PowerPoint you will experience the same as you felt while working on a desktop. Typing will be easier and developers at Microsoft believe that you won’t need an external keyboard, though you may use one according to your convenience. All the tools look much more accessible as per Tablet usage.
Though Microsoft has launched the Office for free but it will require you to subscribe Office 365 for accessing some premium features. There are also some minimum system requirements like the screen size should be 7 inches (10.1 inches or larger screen size will require a subscription) or larger, 1 GB RAM.
Microsoft has made a great move by launching one the most productive tools on one the most widely used Operating Systems. The vision of making Office touch friendly will benefit users and ultimately benefit Microsoft for establishing a strong user base.
