All you people out there who are using Android phones, there is a news for them, recently on 21st August, Google revealed its next OS- Android 8 which shares its name with the world’s most enjoyable biscuit Oreo. But the question is would you get an Oreo update? Well, Google has said Oreo is going up there in the Android Open Source Project (ASOP) but still you don’t know when it is coming to your phone. The process of making the OS update-ready is time-consuming and that is the reason a very few devices get an OS update. This could be corroborated by the fact that around 12 out of 100 Android phones are still running on Nougat 7.0 OS and a little more than 1 out of 100 is running on Nougat 7.1. Over the air, updates would also come soon for these devices. The users who join the Android O Public Beta program they would get the final build any day like Pixel and Pixel XL users have got. The update is a 38-MB heavy patch that goes on for an hour.
