Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note soon to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Xiaomi users can be delighted, earlier this month it was revealed that the Android Marshmallow update would be arriving soon, as it has been announced that the update is in the final stage of testing.

The MIUI operations manager from Xiaomi has revealed on Weibo that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade is in its final stage of testing and will soon be made available to the users of Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi Note and Xiaomi Mi 3. This update to the users will be released with a new version of MIUI 7, which was earlier based on an older Android version.

The users should not be expecting any of the interface changes with this update to the MIUI version. Its just a new MIUI 7 ROM based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is the latest version of android. The update seems to be in its beta stage and is more likely to contain several bugs. The final and stable update is expected to be released in few months and would probably arrive as OTA update.

Back when Xiaomi released the MIUI 7 ROM in August 2015 based om Android 5.1 Lollipop, many fans and users were disappointed to see that most of the devices will be stuck at older Android iteration. For the same Xiaomi assured the users by saying that the users should not be worrying about the Android version upgrade as the features if the MIUI 7 would be the same on all the devices irrespective of the Android version devices is running on.

With the announcement, which also revealed that the Mi 3 will also be getting the update, making it the first device from the Chinese firm to receive Android 6.0 upgrade. He also posted a screenshot of the update, revealing the size of the update is 518 MB. More importantly the manager also clarified the users will be getting the latest Android version soon and the company has already rolled out the software to its closed beta tester community. MIUI 7which is the latest operating system of Xiaomi, has an extensive customization option and delivers colorful interference and enhanced performance with the improved load time of stock apps and battery saving option. The update is likely to carry inbuilt themes, a lock screen wallpaper that changes on daily basis, and child lock option for apps.
